TORONTO – Dietitians of Canada has improved its online tool to help Canadians plan meals, set goals for healthy eating and physical activity and track the results.
The national dietitians group said Wednesday that the bilingual eaTracker, operational since 2005, has been updated. More than 75,000 of its 307,000 users have signed up since 2010.
“Using their feedback, we’ve updated the tool to help consumers make their best food and activity choices to support their good health,” registered dietitian Lynn Roblin said in a release.

“It’s a minefield out there for consumers with so much food and nutrition information; eaTracker provides one-stop shopping for consumers, right from planning their meals to providing feedback on their food and activity choices.”
Users of eaTracker (www.eatracker.ca) can now do a faster search for their food and activities, save their favourite foods and meals; analyze, save and compare their recipes; post pictures or quotes to keep them motivated; have their registered dietitian “coach” them on eaTracker to help them achieve their healthy eating and weight goals; track their progress; and access recipes as well as fitness and nutrition tips to help them learn how to eat well and keep active.
Dietitians of Canada represents almost 6,000 members, who can provide information on nutrition issues such as healthy weights for children, food security, caffeine and health, school nutrition policy, nutrition labelling and organic foods. For more information visit http://www.dietitians.ca.
