VANCOUVER – Police are warning the public after a man exposed himself to a 13-year-old girl at the beach at English Bay on July 2.
Police say she was spending some time at the beach with friends, when at about 3:30 p.m. she was approached by a man. She was alone at the time and he struck up a conversation with her.
The man asked her a number of questions and made inappropriate comments before exposing himself to her.
Police say the girl left the beach and told a lifeguard. The police were called but a search of the area turned up no sign of the man.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, about 40 years old, 5’8” tall, 190 lbs., with short brown hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on his left upper arm.
On Tuesday, police released the composite sketch and tattoo example:
At one point in the conversation, the man told the young girl that he was born in Italy and recently got back from a trip there.
