The band says that fans will receive a full refund for their ticket purchases, and that it hopes to reschedule the cancelled dates.

The Juno Award-winning rockers still have dates scheduled in Japan and Hong Kong this weekend before they head out for a European tour.

Drummer Chuck Comeau took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and issue an update on Bouvier’s condition.

“Pierre is silent, resting his voice and doing everything he can to get better,” he wrote.

Simple Plan is touring in support of its fourth album, “Get Your Heart On,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Canadian chart in June and reached gold certification a month later.
