Police bust suspected drug lab in Coquitlam neighbourhood

Hazmat crews on scene in Coquitlam.

Global News

VANCOUVER – Police and fire investigators are looking into a suspected drug lab discovered inside a Coquitlam home.

Hazmat crews were called to the area of Westwood Street and Como Lake Avenue after a ‘funny smell’ prompted neighbours to call police.

Chemicals and equipment were discovered inside the home in what’s described as a “fairly large lab.”

Neighbouring homes were also briefly evacuated as a precaution.

Police say their investigation is still in the early stages and one man has been taken into custody.
