TORONTO – Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is taking part in his first executive committee meeting today following his return to work from a stint in rehab.
Ford returned to his office on Monday after spending two months at a rehab facility and offered a lengthy apology for his past behaviour.
And yesterday he drew cheers from supporters and jeers from critics as he mingled with revellers at Canada Day events across Toronto.

Marching in a Canada Day parade in east-end Toronto, he was greeted with shouts of “disgrace” and “resign” from some in the crowd.
Ford wished friend and foe alike the best on the country’s 147th birthday.
His role as mayor has been largely symbolic since November, when city council stripped him of most of his power.
