TORONTO – Fred Perry is proceeding with plans to release fashion collections from the late Amy Winehouse.
The British label said it came to the decision “after much consideration” and with the blessing of the late singer’s family.
Fred Perry will release the fall-winter 2011 range and wholesale the spring-summer 2012 Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry Collection.
Winehouse’s royalties and fees from both collections will be donated to the soon-to-be-established Amy Winehouse Foundation, and the label will make a seasonal donation to the foundation.

The collection will be available at Fred Perry’s flagship Canadian store at 964 Queen St. W. in Toronto and Urban Boutique in Edmonton, as well as online at http://www.fredperry.com.
“When Fred Perry came to us to ask what we would like to do with the new collection, it was natural to continue,” Winehouse’s father, Mitch, said in a statement.
“Amy loved working on both collections and would want them to be made available. All the money we make and the donation that Fred Perry will give will go straight to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which we are setting up to help children and young people in her name.”
The 27-year-old singer, who had struggled for years with drug and alcohol addiction, was found dead at her London home on July 23.
The results of toxicology tests to determine the cause of death are due later this month.
Meanwhile, Winehouse’s family is seeking political backing to set up a drug rehabilitation centre in her name. Mitch Winehouse met with British politicians last week to discuss setting up a treatment centre for young people.
