Get ready for the heat and potentially another soggy weekend

A hot and potentially humid finish to the week. Global News

Saturday night, the Skytracker app was lit up with watches and warnings for severe thunderstorms, even a tornado warning. This week, we should be in the clear as high pressure will clear the skies and temporarily bring our temperatures in the city below seasonal.

I hope you’re ready for some heat. This week temperatures around the province are going to get up there. Tuesday, temperatures province-wide will be fairly consistent – close to 20°. By Wednesday and Thursday expect the north to feel the heat as temperatures climb close to 30°.

By the end of the week, Winnipeg should be approaching similar conditions.  The warm up will be slower for the south but by Friday we should crest. By this point, there’s also the chance you’ll notice the humidity. A significant amount of moisture will likely be moving in, making for another soggy weekend. It’s a long way off but that could be the next chance of seeing more watches and warnings pop up around southern Manitoba.
