Bruce Payne

Bruce Payne is a newcomer to politics. After growing up in Calgary, he moved to Lethbridge, became a carpenter, and built his own construction company. He then took a management position with an international firm working on many large scale projects across North America. During this time he became a pastor and helped found and build a number of churches in southern Alberta.

Payne traveled to Sri Lanka to help rebuild after the Tsunami, and has established a permanent carpentry school there. He also became involved in the labour movement, serving two terms as president of the Calgary Carpenters local.

Payne has three children; son Ryan, daughter Lyndsay and step-daughter Kaija. He and his wife Christine currently live in Calgary.
