VANCOUVER – Fifty people showed up to Cowichan Valley Regional District headquarters late Wednesday afternoon to help find a missing local man.
Bowen Osoko, a Victoria Police Department spokesperson, said police were amazed by these community members’ efforts after they came and asked for maps of the area.
“It shows that people care and want to help,” he said.
Slaven Bakovlijev, 26, was reported missing on Tuesday and both his family and police are concerned about his well-being.
Police think Bakovlijev may be in the Duncan or Mount Washington area.
Bakovlijev is described as 5ft 10 inches tall, with a slim build, weighing approximately 140 lbs. Victoria Police are asking anyone who may have seen Bakovlijev to call 9-1-1.
