Bryant Collins was driving along Highway 72 in northeast Georgia when he spotted something he never expected to see – a baby crawling along the side of the highway.
A 15-month-old baby girl had crawled 300 yards from home, through the woods and onto the side of the highway. That’s when Collins spotted the child.
“When I got out, it was a baby right here. Almost in the highway,” Collins told WXIA.
What was Collins’ reaction? “I mean the same that yours would have been, man. What the hell going on? A baby?”
Collins called 911 and stayed with the baby for two hours.
“The baby started crying, so I turned my phone on and turned on some gospel music and she calmed down. I know gospel music calms me down,” Collins said.
Police arrested the baby’s father, Timothy Pickens, and are expected to charge the child’s mother as well.
