WINNIPEG – Two popular pools will remain closed as city crews work on repairs at the facilities.

Repairs following a May fire will keep Elmwood Kildonans Pool closed until December 2014, the city said in a news release.

People registered for swimming programs at the pool in spring 2014 and summer 2014 will be contacted by city staff, the release said. Pass holders who have suspended their passes will also be contacted.

Meanwhile, Kildonan Park’s outdoor pool won’t open on June 16, which was the scheduled opening date.

The opening has been delayed by mechanical repairs. Rental groups affected by the delay have been contacted by city staff.

The Kildonan Park pool was the only outdoor poll scheduled to open June 16; all other city-run outdoor pools are slated to open on June 27.
