Sony Pictures Imageworks is moving its headquaters to Vancouver from California, creating several hundred new jobs in the visual effects sector.
The Hollywood Reporter says Sony will move into the new Nordstorm building at Pacific Centre next year. They are leasing 72,000 square feet above the department store.
The space can reportedly accommodate up to 700 visual effects artists. The company currently has a smaller studio in Yaletown.
The Yaletown studio recently finished work on The Amazing Spiderman 2 and Edge of Tomorrow.
Microsoft recently announced it would be moving into the same building above Nordstrom, creating 400 new jobs.
