TORONTO — Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin will team up for a one-hour special this fall.
The Simpsons Guy will follow the Griffin family as they leave Quahog for Springfield and spend time with Homer and his family.
Plans for The Simpsons/Family Guy crossover episode were announced Monday at the Fox upfront presentation.

While Homer and Peter hit it off — at first — Marge and Lois vow to stop doing household chores, Meg bonds with Lisa and Stewie picks up some skateboarding tips from Bart.
Characters from The Simpsons have previously shown up in episodes of Family Guy but this will be the first time the two animated series have officially partnered.
The episode is scheduled to air in September — the start of the 26th season of The Simpsons and the 13th season of Family Guy.
Both shows air in Canada on Global.
