Calgary Police investigate possible child abduction attempt

CALGARY- An alleged abduction attempt in northeast Calgary has prompted a warning from police.

Just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, a 10-year-old girl was sitting in front of her home in the 5700 block of 18 Ave. N.E. when she said a man approached her and tried to grab her arm. She screamed, and the man left the area.

He’s described as white, between 30 and 40 years old, around 5’8” tall and about 180 to 200 pounds. He’s bald, had a tattoo on his left shoulder, and was wearing a white v-neck t-shirt and blue jeans.

The vehicle he was driving is described as a black pickup truck, which may have had damage on its passenger side.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
