Peter Neal, the father of NHL player James Neal, owns the land off Pigeon Lake Road and says they wanted people to see what Bobcaygeon is all about.
City of Kawartha Lakes EMS officials will have extra paramedics and a nurse at the concert site and ambulances and a rescue helicopter on standby.
EMS spokesman Andrew Rafton says heat-related illnesses shouldn’t be a problem but there could be some ankle sprains due to the rough terrain and some alcohol-related injuries.
The event is creating an economic boost for the area and Michele Weber, manager of the 72 Bolton Sports Cafe in Bobcaygeon, expects to be busy.
The Tragically Hip will take the stage just before 9 p.m. (CKRU)
