WINNIPEG – An exotic dancer booking agent has added his name to the growing list of mayoral candidates.
Michel Fillion officially entered the race Wednesday for the city’s top political job.
The 55-year-old works for Superb Entertainment, a company run by his partner. The agency helps set up parties or events by organizing DJs, musicians or impersonators. It also books exotic dancers for bars across Manitoba.
But Fillion said the political stage is his ultimate goal.
“It’s my destiny. I’ve known since I was a little kid that I had to do this,” Fillion told Global News.
Fillion is the fifth person to file his papers for the Oct. 22 election. He joins privacy lawyer Brian Bowman, former city councillor Gord Steeves, blogger Gordon Warren and funeral director Mike Vogiatzakis in the race.
