SALMON ARM — A Salmon Arm woman is dead as a result of a head-on collision.
The two vehicle crash happened Monday afternoon where Highway 1 meets Highway 97B — just east of Salmon Arm.
Police say the crash occured when a Ford Fusion was attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 97B and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry.

The only occupant in the Toyota escaped with minor injuries as did the driver of the Ford Fusion but a passenger — the driver’s wife — died.
The 65 year old victim has not been identified.
Police say the woman had been experiencing chest pains prior to the crash.
No word on charges.
