Demers was reported missing in January after last being seen leaving a family member’s residence in the St. Brieux area in early November 2013.

His SUV was found stuck in the field by the junction on Jan. 31. A search of the area at that time failed to turn up Demers.

Police say there is no evidence to suggest foul play and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Melfort RCMP had conducted several previous searches in the area without success due to the terrain which was described as uneven, treed and snow covered.
