Dumpster fire injures Calgary firefighter

CALGARY – Two people had to be treated for minor injuries after a southeast dumpster fire got out of control on Tuesday night.

The fire stated around 6:30 p.m. in the Foothills Industrial Park.

When crews arrived in the 6800 block of 40th Street S.E. they found the blaze had spread from a dumpster to a nearby commercial warehouse.

Fire crews quickly got the fire under control, making sure it didn’t continue to spread.

However, one firefighter and one civilian had to be treated for injuries. Both were later released

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

So far, no damage estimate has been released.
