CALGARY- Calgary skateboarders are set to get some new spots to practice their 360 flips.

The city has selected eight sites for new skateparks, three of which will be built in Chinook Park/Eagle Ridge, Huntington Hills and Southwood.

The plan is part of the Skateboard Amenities Strategy, which held open houses to gather feedback from both skateboarders and the general public.

The parks range in size from half a basketball court, to ones the size of a tennis court. The design process is getting underway, and those interested in being involved can attend a meeting on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the former Centennial Planetarium.
