FREDERICTON – New Brunswickers are under a flood watch advisory with rain forecast for Tuesday.
River Watch says rising temperatures will lead to ice movement on the St. John River and other river systems across the province within two days.
“Basically, we’re seeing the number go up about a metre a day, in the entire basin especially the North. As far as the Nashwaak, it all depends on how much precipitation we’re going to get,” said Richard Keeley, spokesperson for River Watch 2014.

Keeley says people living along the rivers should be prepared and remain a safe distance from waterways.
EMO and River Watch say they are anticipating some localized flooding but can’t predict where ice jams might happen.
Jams have been spotted on the Nashwaak River at MacLaggan Bridge, Tay Bridge, Durham Bridge and Marysville Bridge.
River Watch is also reporting ice jams on the Southwest Miramichi River below the Doaktown Bridge and at Norrad’s Bridge in Upper Miramichi.
