TORONTO — TTC riders can now use a real-time GPS-tracking website to find out when their next bus will arrive.
The site, run by California-based NextBus, is part of the TTC’s Next Vehicle Arrival System (NVAS) project that already provides a similar service for streetcar arrival times.
TTC customers can access the NextBus website on their computer or smartphone and select their bus route, and stop to find out when the next three buses will arrive. They can also access a real-time map that shows the buses currently traveling around the city.
Information is available for 9,300 TTC bus stops in the city and another 800 stops in the GTA that are served by contracted TTC vehicles.
Next-bus information will also be shown on LCD screens and LED displays at a handful of subways stations and bus shelters across the city.
