There’s no word on how the accident happened but the impact was so hard it knocked the hydrant down.

A spokesperson for the City of Penticton says the water was gushing for about half hour before crews managed to shut it off. She expects the broken parts to be fixed sometime Friday evening.

There is no word on any injuries or possible charges. It’s not yet known what it will cost to fix the damaged hydrant.
