Friday, April 11, 2014. Dave McCann and the Firehearts have a CD release part up at the Geomatic Attic tomorrow night. The fun part of my job is getting to watch the growth of musicians throughout the years. I first heard Dave about 10 years ago and this latest CD which was recorded at Leeroy Stagger’s studio in my opnion is his best work. He tells me that they went in expecting to do a folksy-roots album and it turned out to have a bit of a rock edge. As Dave says, it’s just the way it goes sometimes. It’s always a fun, quaint atmosphere up at the Geomatic Attic and this is the last show up there for a couple of months.

Ron Hall is excited about the great business support they’ve gotten this year for the annual Coalhurst Legion Loonie auction. Bring your loonies tomorrow. You could get a great deal on some cool merchandise. As has been the case in past years there will be a used car up for auction. That will be a regular auction, not of the loonie variety because that would be, well…loonie to do it otherwise.
Jessica Parmar is a make-up artist in Lethbridge who recently found out that she’s been invited to participate in Paris fashion week this summer. She has a very unique talent and she showed off her abilities on 3 separate models. Each one quite distinct. We look forward to hearing about her experience when she comes back from Paree…
