CALGARY – Police have laid charges against a Calgary woman after she allegedly forced her roommate into the sex trade.

The victim came to Calgary in October 2013 for a job, and met the accused while searching for a roommate.

After a short time living together, it’s alleged Amanda Kathleen McGee began slipping drugs into the alcoholic beverages the two were consuming together – before taking inappropriate photos of the victim.

Mcgee is accused of later using those photos to extort the victim into becoming a sex-trade worker.
