TORONTO — Fashion designer Tom Ford has revealed he married his longtime partner Richard Buckley.
Ford, 52, declined to say when the two tied the knot but said the ceremony took place in the U.S.
The famed designer showed off a gold wedding ring during an appearance this week at an Apple store in London.
“We are married now, which is nice,” he said.
Ford and Buckley, 66, have been together for 27 years and welcomed son Alexander in September 2012.
In 2011, Ford told Out magazine it was “love at first sight” when he met Buckley at a fashion show.
“You can look at someone and feel like you’ve known them forever,” he said. “The first night I ever had drinks with Richard, I felt I knew everything about him.”
Buckley, a journalist, battled throat cancer early in the couple’s relationship.
Ford worked for Gucci and YSL for a decade before launching his eponymous collection. He also directed the 2009 film A Single Man starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore.
