TORONTO – Stand-up comedian John Pinette, best known to many as the carjacking victim in the final episode of Seinfeld, died Saturday. He was 50.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office said Pinette died at a Pittsburgh hotel.
The corpulent comedian appeared in several movies and TV shows but mostly worked as a stand-up comic.

He was a crowd favourite at Montreal’s Just for Laughs comedy festival.
Pinette cancelled several shows — including one at Ontario’s Caesars Windsor — last September so he could seek treatment for a prescription drug problem. He rescheduled the Windsor show for January 2014 but cancelled it due to “complications from medial treatment.”
The medical examiner’s office said Pinette’s death was from natural causes.
