April 3, 2014. Girl Guide cookies are now available. These are the traditional vanilla and chocolate variety. We talked to Bev Gallimore and Chris Burton of the Lethbridge Girl Guides. It begs the question, which style of cookie do you prefer-the ones that are out now or the minty ones that come out around Christmas? Bev tells me that the vanilla and chocolate still outsell the mint but it’s getting close to a 50-50 split. I still prefer the traditional. And yes I had to start the interview with my Cookie Monster impression. There’s just some things I can’t help.

Chinook High School will be presenting the play “Our Town” starting next Wednesday at their beautiful performing arts facility. It’s directed by Sharon Peat. This show is presented as part of a mentorship program where the students get to work with experienced local actors. This year those mentors include Kevin Wood (principal), John Poulsen (University of Lethbridge), Doug McArthur (University of Lethbridge), Kathy Zaborsky (New West Theatre) and Jordanna Kohn (New West Theatre, LMT, School District #51). Along with Sharon, we interviewed students Andrea Walker and Cianna Starzyk-Frey. I was very impressed with their thought out answers.
Matthew Odland is the man behind this weekend’s T&T Show at the Enmax Centre. (Toys & Tattoos) It’s heavily geared to the male population. So if you’re looking for that Rob Ford tattoo, this weekend would be a good time to get the ball rolling. Special guest at this show is 2013 Playmate of the Year Raquel Pomplin. The show runs Saturday & Sunday.
