EDMONTON – Patchy fog across parts of Central and Southern Alberta reduced visibility to near zero Thursday morning and caused delays at Edmonton International Airport.
Environment Canada was warning of near zero visibility because of the fog, and said the area with the most extensive fog was through central Alberta from Leduc towards Edson and Whitecourt.
Visibilities are expected to improve through the late morning.
Around 7:40 a.m., Environment Canada released a special weather statement for the following areas:
Drayton Valley, Devon, Rimbey, Pigeon Lake, Leduc, Camrose, Wetaskiwin, Tofield, Spruce Grove, Morinville, Mayerthorpe, Evansburg, Whitecourt, Edson, Fox Creek, and Swan Hills.
The special weather warning ended just before 11 a.m.
