Woman killed in crash on Saskatchewan grid road

FORT QU’APPELLE, Sask. – A woman was killed in a two vehicle crash on a grid road near Fort Qu’Appelle just past midnight on Saturday.

At 12:30 a.m., emergency services were called to a collision between Lebret and Indian Head.

A 40-year-old woman from the Fort Qu’Appelle area was found to dead at the scene.

Investigators determined the victim was a passenger in an eastbound car which swerved into the path of a westbound pickup truck and was struck.

The pickup truck driver was treated on scene for minor injuries.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital as a precaution.

RCMP say alcohol was a factor and charges will be laid.
