SASKATOON – A teen accused of stabbing a man in a Saskatoon alley last month has pleaded guilty.
The teen, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with aggravated assault after a 50-year-old man was stabbed four times.
Tom Brassoy was walking in an alley to his daughter’s home on the afternoon of Feb. 27 when he was approached by four people.
They asked to borrow Brassoy’s lighter and then an altercation broke out. Brassoy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The 17-year-old youth was sentenced to 11 months in secure custody and five months community supervision.
A 16-year-old teen is also facing a number of charges from the assault. He is scheduled to be back in court on March 24.
