Winnipeg digging out again

WINNIPEG – After even more snow on Sunday, Winnipeggers are digging out yet again.

Since October, 151 cm of snow has fallen in the city – well above normal.

Winnipeg usually sees an average of 114 cm of snow from October to the end of April.

Environment Canada said by March 17 of last year, 143 cm had fallen. The total last winter was 172 cm.

If you go back two years, there was not a single snow flake on the ground. It had all melted by the beginning of March.

Neil Fitzpatrick was married on March 17,2012. It was 19 C.

“We had planned to do all our pictures indoors,” said Fitzpatrick, adding that impromptu photos were taken at Old Market Square.

On his two year wedding anniversary, Fitzpatrick shoveled the walkway to his home.
