Hundreds of mill workers in our region will no longer for heading to the picket line after voting to ratify a four year contract.
600 mill workers from Armstrong, Kelowna, Lumby and Princeton art part of a larger group spread throughout the Southern Interior that have been without a contract for nearly two years.
Talks had broken off several times before unionized workers voted 95% in favour of going on strike in late March.
However, an agreement was reached after a mediator stepped in.
The four-year deal gives the mill workers a two percent pay raise starting in July and a similar raise next year.
It was approved by 74% of its members.
The contract expires in 2013.
