EXCLUSIVE: Adam Sandler film ‘Pixels’ to be shot in Toronto

TORONTO — Adam Sandler will be spending his summer battling video game characters in Toronto.

Global News has learned the big-budget film Pixels will be shot in the city from May 28 to Sept. 9.

Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Home Alone) is directing the movie, which is based on a short film by Patrick Jean.

Pixels is about video game experts who are recruited by the government when popular ’80s video game characters attack New York City.

Kevin James, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad and Michelle Monaghan are co-starring.

Pixels, which will blend live action and computer-generated images, will be shot at locations in Toronto and at Pinewood Toronto Studios.
