Another women’s centre in the Okanagan will soon be shutting down permanently.
The Vernon and District Women’s Centre is closing its doors this month due to funding and budget cuts.
A press release from the organization states the centre has “struggled to survive” after government cuts to core funding in 2004.
The centre has provided services for women in areas such as poverty, legal advocacy, personal safety and health services.
It had been running for more than 30 years.
The Kelowna Women’s Resource Centre closed its doors at the end of April.
