A truck driver driving northbound towards the accident was also treated for shock.

He had attempted to swerve out of the way when he ended up in the ditch of the southbound lane.

The Sûreté du Québec have completely shut down Highway 15.

The southbound lane has since reopened, but Bilodeau said the northbound lane will remain closed for several more hours while they investigate the accident and try to identity the driver.

“We don’t even know who it is,” said Bilodeau. “Even the licence plate is burnt so we can’t identify him yet. We just know that it’s a man.”
