Transportation hubs busy as March break exodus begins

TORONTO – Today is the last day of school for many children before the March break and that means this will be the busiest travel weekend of the spring break season.

People are already lining up for their winter getaways at the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Between March 7th and 8th, Pearson is expecting more than 200,000 travelers to pass through their gates.

On a typical day, the airport receives about 95,000 passengers.

If you’re one of the lucky ones flying away, there’s a few travel tips to keep in mind.

It’s recommended not to pack any liquids that exceed 100 millilitres in volume into your carry-on and you should seal them in see-through bags.

Another key is to get to the airport early as long lines ups could cause you to miss your flight.

Finally in case you are waiting a long time, you should pack some light snacks, games, or reading material to keep your children busy and happy.
