A major fire is burning in St-Henri.

The blaze is raging at the Montreal Recycling company at 3820 St. Patrick.

Early reports say no one is injured.

Firefighters battling the blaze are dealing not only with the highly flammable content of the plant but also Wednesday’s excessive heat.

They are also dousing nearby buildings.

The fire is so hot, officials worry neighbouring buildings could catch fire.

Heavy smoke from the fire is also causing difficulties for those commuting to the South Shore.

It is making visibility very difficult for drivers headed to the Champlain Bridge.

More details to follow.
