Lethbridge Regional Police have charged two people and recovered nearly $20,000 worth of stolen property after a short-term drug investigation.
Members of the ALERT Lethbridge Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) concluded their investigation into a dial-a-dope operation last week that saw the successful recovery of drugs and a significant amount of personal items and electronics including: televisions, laptops, game consoles, clothing, jewelry and pellet guns.
Officers executed a warrant at a home on the 900 block of 8 Street North on February 20th. A man and woman were arrested at the time. Police found a small amount of narcotic pain medication and crack cocaine upon entering the home along with cash and $20,000 worth of stolen property.
Police believe personal property was provided in exchange for drugs.
Mark Anthony Brown, 44, and Janel Dawn Donovan, 32, both of Lethbridge, are charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of crime.
They made their first court appearance last week.
