WINNIPEG – The street where the St. Vital Curling Club is located is being named Honorary Team Jones Way, the city announced Tuesday morning.

Regal Avenue will carry the second name to honour gold-medal Olympic champions Jennifer Jones, Kaitlyn Lawes, Dawn McEwen and Jill Officer, Mayor Sam Katz said.

“Winnipeggers have always been extremely supportive of Team Jones and are very proud of the team’s record-breaking Olympic achievement,” Katz said in a news release. “All of the members of the team are ambassadors for Winnipeg and the sport of curling, and it is fitting to honour them with Team Jones Way.”

The four, who became the first women’s curling rink to go undefeated at the Olympics when they won the gold-medal game against Sweden, arrived back in Winnipeg on Monday night.
