Last week, Global News asked its readers who should be named Canada’s flag bearer for the closing ceremonies. At that time, Calgary’s Gilmore Junio had just given up his spot in the 1,000-metre speed skating race to teammate Denny Morrison, whom he felt had a better medal shot. Morrison went on to claim a silver medal for Canada, later praising Junio for his heart of gold.

In Global News’ earlier poll, 81 per cent of voters supported Morrison’s campaign to drape Junio in the red-and-white. But eight days and many medals later, Canada has many more potential flag bearers to choose from. Vote for Canada’s closing flag bearer in the poll below, or make another suggestion in the comments.
