A multi-car accident in Burnaby has sent at least five people to hospital this afternoon.
The accident happened at Lougheed Highway and Gilmore Avenue, and RCMP say there are at least four cars involved.
It is unclear at this time how the accident happened or how severe the injuries are. Patients have been transported to two local hospitals, Burnaby General and Vancouver General.
Mounties say traffic at the intersection is heavily backed up and will continue to be until they can determine what happened.
