Willow Park School reopens after destructive fire

CALGARY – Students at Willow Park School were able to return to the facility on Tuesday, after it was badly damaged by a fire last year.

One classroom at the southeast school was completed gutted in the October blaze, while three others were structurally compromised.

The entire school also sustained severe smoke damage and contamination from noxious fumes.

Investigators determined the fire was deliberately set, but so far no charges have been laid.

Repair work to the building took about four months to complete.

Willow Park School students have been attending class at the Viscount Bennett Centre since the fire.
