CP investigating derailment near Neepawa

WINNIPEG — Canadian Pacific Railway is investigating after more than two dozen cars derailed outside of Neepawa Saturday.

Twenty-seven rail cars came off the tracks around 10:30 p.m.

A spokesperson for the railway said the train was heading east from Saskatchewan to the United States.

Twenty-two of the cars were hauling grain, three were carrying potash and two cars were empty.

No one was hurt in the derailment and there are no environmental concerns.

Crews were on site cleaning up the wreckage more than 12 hours later.
