Manitoba braces for another winter storm

Snow is forecast across southern Manitoba on Wednesday. Global News

WINNIPEG – Snowfall warnings are in effect in southwestern Manitoba as the province braces for another winter wallop Wednesday.

Heavy snowfall and wind are expected to hit Manitoba on Wednesday as a low-pressure system moves in from Alberta in the afternoon and evening, Environment Canada warned.

Snowfall amounts in southwestern Manitoba will range from 10 to 15 centimetres from the Yellowhead Highway south to the U.S. border, with slightly less expected over the Red River Valley and southeastern Manitoba, the weather agency said.

Gusty east to southeast winds will bring blowing snow to many areas, creating poor visibility first in the southeast and Brandon areas, then moving into the Red River Valley and Winnipeg areas Wednesday evening.
