Police say all of those targeted were at funerals of close family members and funeral notifications had been published in a newspaper or online.

The break-ins happened in various neighbourhoods in the past few weeks.

Police are advising people to keep their doors and windows locked when away from home, and have someone watch their home while they are away at a funeral service.
