Pedestrian knocked over, bruised after being hit by vehicle

HALIFAX – A 46-year-old man is nursing some bruises, after he was knocked over by a vehicle.

The collision happened at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Mumford Road and Ashburn Avenue. Police said the pedestrian was crossing in a marked crosswalk when he was hit. The driver gave his contact information to the victim and then left the scene.

Police caught up with the 69-year-old man and charged him with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
