The historic Beaverdell Hotel burned to the ground early Monday morning. Witnesses say the blaze started around 2 am.

The intense heat from the fire cracked windows in businesses across the street and had nearby homeowners concerned for their own structure.

The cause of the fire is unknown and no injuries have been reported.

The wood-frame hotel was built in 1901 and claimed to be the oldest continuously operating hotel in British Columbia.
