Buffett hasn’t picked a Super Bowl wrong in 6 years. Neither has Elijah. And Keyano is 4-0 in his predictions.
Ok, so they may be a Manatee, an Ape, and a Grizzly Bear respectively – but when it comes to betting on the big game, anxious gamblers are looking for any edge they can find.
Major sporting events usually involve some sort of prediction or predictions from the animal kingdom, and Sunday’s game is no exception.
Will the Seattle Seahawk’s stifling defense see them through to a championship, or will the Peyton Manning-led attack of the Denver Broncos win the day?
Without any further ado, let’s introduce our panel of expert analysts:
Pepper the Octopus
A resident of Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto, Pepper took nearly 45 minutes of deliberation to make his decision. He may have taken that time to consult with Mayor Rob Ford, who wore a Denver Broncos jersey to city hall this week and had earlier suggested the team would win by “at least 10.”
Elijah the Ape
According to officials at the Salt Lake City Zoo, Elijah hasn’t picked a Super Bowl wrong since 2006. Ironically enough, that was the last time the Seattle Seahawks played in the big game, ultimately falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Will Elijah make the same mistake again?

Ozzy the Bear
Ozzy the bear of ZooMontana made his tasteful Super Bowl pick via banana bread cakes with peanut butter frosting and Nutella logos (which really should be the usual method from now on). Like the players themselves, Ozzy braved snowy conditions to make his pick.
Buffett the Manatee
Buffett is a Marine Laboratory Manatee with a pretty good track record of picking Super Bowls. According to his handlers, Buffett has picked the last six Super Bowls correctly. Will the streak continue?
Kiano the Rhino (see above)
It may take some thick skin to predict a Super Bowl winner, which is why the folks at the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa left it up to a rhino. The logos of the Seahawks and the Broncos were painted on big metal balls. Some treats were also applied on each ball to interest the rhino in approaching them.
Tag the Kodiak Grizzly
Meet Tag, an Alaskan Kodiak who lives at the Working Wildlife ranch in California, where he does TV and commercial work (football analysis is just a hobby we’re guessing). Tag was offered a “Denver” omelet, to represent the Broncos, and a pie with Washington State apples to represent the Seahawks.
