TORONTO – The Denver Broncos will win the Super Bowl, according to an octopus at Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto.
The football oracle was provided with two helmets; a Broncos helmet and a Seattle Seahawks helmet. She dropped the Seahawks helmet, leading aquarium staff to posit Pepper prefers Peyton Manning over Russell Wilson.
The octopus, named Pepper, sided with betting website, Sportingbet.ca, which is giving the Broncos a slight, two-point advantage.
But it wasn’t before Pepper took 45 minutes to ponder the decision. He may have taken that time to consult with Mayor Rob Ford who wore a Denver Broncos jersey to city hall this week and had earlier suggested the team would win by “at least 10.”
The Super Bowl is being played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
